left all the grey clouds at last

sparkling in birdsong


This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Haiku Writing Techniques #8, Karumi (Lightness), another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. Karumi is a haiku concept that was devised by Basho and can be described as “lightness, simplicity, becoming one with the experience you have on that moment when you are composing your haiku.” All of the poems in the link-up can be read here.
