Over a Dusting

over a dusting
of snow who knows who is singing
this twilight

This poem was inspired by the brief cracks appearing in the winter, again.  And, to finish, here’s Oasis –

If It’s Whiskey

if it’s whiskey

or nostalgia that brings warmth

drink it deep!

and sing the old songs badly

as ever, to greet New Year!

This poem is for my mum and was written in response to Carpe Diem #617, “delight in company,” another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. The soundtrack chooses itself.
