This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Weekend-Meditation #2 Troiku “a hundred gourds”, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. For this prompt we were asked to write a ‘troiku’ of haiku, using the three lines from a haiku written by Chiyo-Ni when she was six years old –
in my garden
starflowers bloom
