This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #842 Tanabata Festival, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. Tanabata was inspired by the famous Chinese folk tale, “The Weaver Girl and the Cowherd”, a story in which two lovers are separated. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here.
