Emotions

emotions blink by

teeming across the asphalt

a shock of hail

This poem was written in response to Heeding Haiku With HA: Emotions, a great prompt hosted by HA at Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Smokey Robinson –

Trees Turn

trees turn to gold

in the miser’s hands of autumn –

daylight looks precious

This poem was written for Heeding Haiku With HA: A Change in Season and Yourself, in which we were invited to write about the difference that you see in yourself with the arrival of a new season.

Little Luxuries

Little luxuries

From damp trees in autumn –

These medieval breaths

###

This poem was written for Heeding Haiku With HA: The Art of Breathing, in which we were invited to feel ourselves breathing and share the experience in the form of a haiku or a tanka. Meanwhile, to accompany the poem, here’s a curious video of Kate Bush wrapped in cling-film…

In Little Lights

In little lights

Cast by haiku –

Shapes of embraces

This is another poem written for Heeding Haiku With HA: Festivities, in which we were invited to celebrate Diwali by writing about darkness being invaded by light.  With this poem I wanted “an atmosphere of festivity,” as HA described it.  It’s also meant to celebrate the spirit of engaging with other writers from across the world, which blogging allows and which, in my hippyish moments, I kinda dig, y’know?
