the wind looks happiest
in a blue flapping flag
– mid-winter
“I’m staying alone at Christmas,”
said the old cashier
in the singing tree
starlings outnumber the dead leaves
– mid-winter

Beautiful poem Blake. Wish you a wonderful Christmas.
Thanks, Chèvrefeuille. And a very happy Christmas to you and all your family, too 🙂
Beautiful in an eerie way. It’s good to know the starlings outnumber the leaves.
Yes they all congregate in the tallest tree hereabouts and sing their hearts out when the mood takes them 🙂 Thanks, and happy new year!
