soon, brother
an autumn leaf
in moonlight
in moonlight
each footstep
fallen leaves

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #1232 abstract autumn (unknown artist), another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s the Walker Brothers –
I like these two “abstract”-haiku in the same way as Santoka Taneda did with his “free-style”
Thanks, Chèvrefeuille. Every time I come across Santoka Taneda I always find him intriguing 🙂
Mmm, this is delicious. In a literary way, of course! Came back a second day to read it again. Feels ancient and has a whiff of incense here and there. Wow.
I tried paring down the words here – probably thinking of your recent 3-word (!) haiku. Mine were overly chatty in comparison 🙂
Well, 3 word was probably pushing it 😉
Beautiful and evocative. Unfortunately I could see that leaf, but I don’t want to be thinking of autumn yet!
I know what you mean – I was checking the leaves as I went into work today and some of them looked a bit tired already. They need to buck their ideas up, frankly!
