umbrellas
and miss the tingle
of summer showers

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #1212 outdoor fun, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And to finish, here’s Gene Kelly –
here’s to rainy tingles!
Absolutely! Cool rain falling on your skin in humid air – one of the pleasure’s of an English summer 🙂
Umbrellas? Pah!
Love the tingle of summer showers – or a drenching. Use the brolly for keeping the sun off.
I couldn’t agree more – a summer shower on a humid day is a traditional English pleasure, surely. Today being a case in point 🙂
