This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #1037 pleasure, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. Admittedly, there doesn’t seem to be too much pleasure in the haiku, but we were given this quote from Lord Byron for inspiration:

“There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more.”
