the wind twists the leaf

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #851 Messenger of the Gods (wind), another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Son House –
Yeah…. Son House!!!!! 🙂
And “falling funeral” is … well … it’s … WOW.
🙂
An amazing song, hey – the lyric looks at love and emotion with a complexity that novels should aspire to and pop music mostly runs from. I first heard it by The White Stripes 🙂
And thanks, Jen. Cycling into work the other week a leaf came spiralling down ahead of me so deliberately that it seemed… stately.
Ah …. a great introduction then!
You never know what the wind will do with falling leaves … I’ve seen them fall in slow-motion too. And other times, it’s like a leaf vortex. Nicely captured here!
splendid … your haiku speaks volumes to me.
Thanks, Georgia. I’m so pleased the haiku spoke to you – I think one of the good things about both haiku and blogging is being able to ‘speak’ to people quite directly who are so far away. All the best.
Yep … that about rounds things up nicely and I agree whole heartedly!
