Nearly Fallen

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Haiku Writing Techniques #17 Leap Linkage, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s The Pretenders –

  1. This is quite a remarkable image …. I hadn’t envisioned the brass ring before. You always give the reader something totally unexpected … which is why I look forward to your haiku so much! 😀

    • ‘Long linkage’ I find a tricky technique, I don’t know about you – similes and metaphors stay fairly close, as a rule. But this technique… :S

      Anyway, from our office at tree level, with a very weird autumn light as dusk fell…

      Yep, I’m a great one for failing to live up to expectations! 😀
