the vivid death
of October leaves, their yellows
seem breathable

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Special #177 Cor van den Heuvel’s “a tide pool”, three favorite haiku, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Cat Power –
Wow … from the breathable yellows to the vivid death of the leaves, this leaves me quite speechless. [Bravo…!!!!]
It was very gloomy and grey on Saturday, which brought out the leaves that much more intensely – so vividly it seemed too much for just eyes to take in. I swear I could feel it in my lungs too..
You know? 🙂
I know 🙂
Captivating verses, dear Sue…
Sending best wishes. Aquileana 🐉☀️
I’m glad you enjoyed the haiku, dear Aquileana 🙂 And I hope you have a wonderful week!
Lovely, I am pleased the yellow leaves are last to fall here in my neighbourhood, so there is still a tiny bit of colour. Grey last Saturday and sunny today.
Yesterday was the hottest November day on record in the UK, apparently. And the yellow leaves were gorgeous when I went for a stroll..
I’m glad you’ve had some autumn loveliness too 🙂
Yep it was sunny this morning and my yellow leaves in front are still stunning but it is raining this afternoon…still not complaining as it is warm…well for Quebec, 10C is warm for November.
