This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Utabukuro #8, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Iggy Pop and David Bowie –
Love the way you’ve broken up the second and third lines. It’s quite sensual … and also … 😉 …!
And hey, Iggy Pop!
I was reading in the introduction to ‘Narrow Road’ how certain innocuous phrases were widely accepted as coded sexual references, e.g. ‘clouds and rain’, apparently. So I felt like having dual meanings and ‘honeysuckle’ – well, it’s just asking for trouble 🙂
Exactly! Makes you read haiku / haibun a bit differently too!
And when you walk through the woods … well … you can find all kinds of *new* hidden terminology too. o.O
Well, I’m drawing a veil over what certain haijin get up to in the woods (ahem!) this is a family friendly blog, thank you 😀
ROFL!!!!
Then to preserve your PG rating I shall refrain from further comment 😉
