This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #795 Papyrus, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Isaac Hayes –
Any post with Isaac Hayes gets an A+! 😀
BUT — the haiku is a wonderful capture. Had no idea what to do with this prompt — ! Very nicely done!
I know, right? An easy A+ every time – thanks, Ike!
After I’d worked this haiku into shape, posted it and read it back, it occurred to me that it might have been an unconscious nod to Buson’s magnificent haiku about the ‘calligraphy of geese’ – but it just so happened I’d stopped to watch a pigeon glide by a few hours earlier…
But let me stop procrastinating, standing here a-narrating 😉
Hey, go ahead and narrate, I enjoy the glimpse into your thought processes. 🙂
