old, worn, her scarf
tangles in the everlasting
winter

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Modern Times Haiku #1 mother’s scarf, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Simon & Garfunkel (Art never looked hotter!) –
Haven’t heard this song in ages …. ah …The Bangles! 😀
A great response!!!! Placing “winter” alone, at the end … the emphasis is very powerful .
Some great lines in this song – I almost went with the S & G version, but… this does rock 🙂
One of those haiku lines where ‘less is more’, perhaps – though it’s often tricky to walk away from those unused syllables… 😛
Thanks, Jen!
Too bad we can’t stockpile those unused syllables for future haiku, eh? 😀
Very welcome 🙂
