a gallery of swans
feather the mountainside –
sunrise
###
This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #785 goraikou or sunrise seen from a mountain top, another great prompt from Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, since I’ve featured no 80s indie with zero production values for a while, here’s the Wild Swans –
Cool image Blake … and you’re right the clouds do seem to be a gallery of swans!
Having read your own post I see that you’re lucky enough to live in a place with a view of the mountains, so you know far more about these images than me – which make me especially glad that the haiku worked for you 🙂
🙂 I understand what you mean … it would be like if I wrote something about a city and could really transmit that flavour of urban life.
Absolutely gorgeous …. everything about it. Bravo … !!!!
(And here’s to 80s Indie!)
80s indie was weird and wonderful and frequently irritating(!) but it was never ever corporate, thank god 🙂
This is one of those rare-ish haiku that arrived almost at once with minimal wrangling, so I’m glad you like it (note to self: see it can be done!)
Wow!!!! See — I told you! Very happy you had a semi-wrangle-free haiku 🙂
