in delicate hands
guessing how to feel adored

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #753 arts, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. For this prompt we were asked to take inspiration from a work of art. So, as I walked home from Morrison’s yesterday, into a sudden shower, this song was playing in my headphones and the mix of English rain and Minneapolis soul was lovely –
Haven’t heard Prince in ages!
Rather than give my interpretation I’m going to read this several times !! I’m really enjoying the new tone, new feel, as of late. Very well done!
I suppose there has been a tone running through the recent haiku. Hmm it wasn’t a conscious decision; still feeling my way… And it’s probably just a phase – ah you’ll have an intense dislike for the tone that replaces it 😉
Oh, I’m not complaining – it is lovely, sensual, elegant. Conscious or not! 😉
But – I look forward to whatever tone. 🙂
Beautiful, dear Sue…. I love the third verse! .
Sending you all my best wishes!. Aquileana 😀
Thanks, dear Aquileana! One thing we do well over here is rain, so it’s best to see the beauty in it when you can 😉
I just have to read and re-read this one Blake …. your style of composing haiku is so different than the most I have read. I think you start to create your own style of haiku-ing ….
Oh really? That’s very encouraging. I’m glad you enjoyed the haiku and thanks, as always, for the support you give everyone 🙂
interesting … this stopped me short as I was wondering about the summer rain in gentle hands 😉
Mmm there are a few valid interpretations here, I think – all pleasing 🙂
Ah yes .. definitely. A lovely ku worth reading and pondering. 🙂
