This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #724 a wandering crow, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Tricky –

  1. Very interesting! That moment of surprise! And “in the blue a crow” seems like it could be a haiku unto itself.

    Hadn’t heard “Tricky” before but I’m diggin’ it 😉

    • I suppose the trip hop musical movement didn’t make much of an impact in the US? But, yes, Tricky’s first album is great – dig away 🙂

      Exactly, I’m walking towards shadows and then one shadow flaps away – boy, I don’t even know what’s staring me right in the face! 😛

    • Thanks, Chèvrefeuille. It’s always strange to see a part of a deep shadow break loose and fly away – for a moment, you feel as if you might have stepped into a horror film… And thanks for sharing all of the Basho haiku this month – they have each made for a fascinating read 🙂
