the gods are bored

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #699, depression, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s the Sex Pistols –
A great, hard-edged look. I like that
Well, I must admit I was fairly unimpressed with Krishna in the exert that provided the inspiration. Sometimes you just want to give everyone a slap, gods, men, whoever.
you should submit this to The Bones Journal. It’s perfect.
I hadn’t come across The Bones Journal, so thanks for referring me to it – and for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed the haiku.
Straight on the nail!
Thanks, Birgitta. A haiku to divide opinion 🙂
Bammo! Yes. Right on target, Blake!!!
Well, it’s a mighty big target…
“Bammo!” – a fine word and I’m thinking critiques of haiku could benefit from taking a more Batman-60s-TV-series approach, generally, y’know? 😉
Holy bizarre interjections, Batman! 😉
Hope you weren’t offended — it sort of popped out, you know?
But — this haiku is perfect. 🙂
Offended? By Batman speak?? Pfft! Not likely 😛
In fact, my brother sent me a text the other day that simply said “Sharkoom!” – which, as everyone knows, is the noise that was made when young Thor hit Avengers Thor with a space shark in a fairly recent issue of the Marvel comic 😀
Evidently my use of bizarre interjections has gotten to be legendary. It inspired a poem by Richard Ankers — you’d probably like his site, too:

But Powbango doesn’t have quite the pedigree that Sharkoom has 😉
Oh I don’t know, ‘Powbango’ sounds like a mighty fine word indeed – pure exuberance 🙂 And I don’t think Thor’s neologisms have inspired a poem yet, so we’ll score it –
Jen – 1
God of Thunder – 0
Well played!
And yes, he looks like an interesting writer.
Yay!! Awesome! Though I might don some rubber-soled shoes in case Thor is less than pleased with the vote 😉
Yeah he’s not the kind of guy who demands a recount – he picks up a few lightning bolts and then… it’s hammer time! (and not in a baggy panted MC Hammer kind of way either) –
So be careful out there, Jen :S
Oh dear! And it IS raining out here too as I start the evening ramble…!
duh duh DUH!!!! :O
LOL!!!!
And — oh my — ! Loved thus video — and he was SO COOL then…. 😛
Oh SO COOL… Man, I was wearing those trousers for 2 years!! 😀 Couldn’t do that sideways walk, though… 😦
ROFL!!!!!
Ah, yes. The glorious 80s! 😉
Well said!
Thanks, I’m glad you thought so!
