Suns

suns in each stillness

till new waves move the raindrops

in surprise

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Special #140, Kala Ramesh’s “morning prayers”, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Neu! –

    • Perhaps it would 🙂 Although… I wouldn’t read it! I’m picturing a heart-warming tale on the prairie, a houseful of women darning quilts; it’s narrated by the youngest girl, awkwardly but intelligently moving from adolescence to young womanhood… it’s a best-seller, though 😉

Thanks, Jen, glad you liked it. I do enjoy how writing haiku lets you see layers in all the little things..

      • Okay, this description made me laugh — and you’re quite right – which means the book would have a movie that would land on the Hallmark channel. Double ick!!!

But it is great as a haiku 😉

    • It has a great, hypnotic groove to it, hey? I remember when I got into this album, a few years ago, I’d listen to this song repeatedly at work when I had a particularly dull chore to get through – it worked wonders! It’s nice to know that it has similar beneficial effects for writing haiku 🙂
