Another story of mine has been posted at bookscover2cover. This one is called You Wore Blue and can be read by clicking on the link. This story was written for a prompt that asked us to finish with the line “But Sam was never the same again”, and since I had watched Casablanca the week previously it was this scene that arrived. Meanwhile the title of the story comes from this snippet of genius dialogue from the film:
Ilsa: I wasn’t sure you were the same. Let’s see, the last time we met…
Rick: Was La Belle Aurore.
Ilsa: How nice, you remembered. But of course, that was the day the Germans marched into Paris.
Rick: Not an easy day to forget.
Ilsa: No.
Rick: I remember every detail. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue.
