from a sunset back
to a fish’s scales and back
in fisherman’s hands

This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem #665, Sunset (over the Harbour), another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here. And, to finish, here’s Muddy Waters –
Muddy Waters — YAY! 🙂
I love the way you’ve captured the glint on the fish’s scales here — beautifully done 🙂
Muddy Waters, indeed! His first appearance over here [blushes for shame], sounding great and looking cool 😉
Thanks, Jen. I think this haiku came from all the Vincent viewing and reading I did with Starry Night. He focused so much on people working outdoors – there’s a painting I really liked of women working in the snow, for instance.
Hard not to be flavored by Vincent’s vision, isn’t it? Sometimes that’s a good thing 😀
