all our final straws
hanging on for one last fling
in the scarecrow’s arms
###
This poem was written in response to Carpe Diem Special #123, Richard Wright’s 4th “the scarecrow’s old hat”, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here.
Hm. If I’m reading this correctly, this scarecrow sounds like a helluva lotta fun. 😉
And if I’m not … well … I need to get out more often. o.O
I wanted to play on the dual meanings, certainly. so your reading is fine 😉
Although if you do catch yourself daydreaming about scarecrows.. .yeah, probably get out a bit more 😀
Mmmmm….that’s one FINE scarecrow…. Fine, indeed….
[Wait…. What were we talking about?]
😉
Very Nice!
Thanks, Ada, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
