mauve at evening –
snow makes the street
a better story
mundanity
starred to death
in the weather’s glass

These poems were written in response to Carpe Diem Special #37, the second haiku by Richard Wright “in the falling snow”, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here.
“mundanity / starred to death” — what an interesting way to put it! It’s not a gentle dying-away — it’s put to death.
And always, your writing is so elegant.
Oh definitely, I think if mundanity is going to be forced to exit the scene it has to be swift, without warning. Otherwise it lingers… and lingers… 😛
Good point. 🙂
