So calming but how?
A stone of bounced light
Slung into orbit

This poem was written for Carpe Diem “Just Read” #4 “Moon in the Haiku Tradition”, by Fay Aoyagi of Blue Willow Haiku World, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here.
glad she is more than just a stone…
Oh I’m glad whatever the moon is – it’s like a little spell when I gaze up at it 🙂
Strange to think that we’re seeing the sun when we look at the moon — 🙂
Thinking of the science behind the moon makes our reaction to her just as mysterious as the moon itself —
Yes, I do love looking at the moon – it becomes hypnotically soothing somehow. But why, exactly..?
I think this haiku was probably suggested by my latest favourite by Basho:
It’s not like anything
they compare it to –
the summer moon
😀
Like it’s built into our DNA, this love of the moon….
Oh Selene, that stone of bounced light!!!.
Nice one, dear Sue. Best!, Aquileana 😀
Ah yes, I was a little ungracious to her there – apologies, Selene! 😉
