Littleness reaching –
A field of silver berries
Ripe in the abyss

This poem was written for Carpe Diem #584, Amanogawa (The Milky Way) September 2013 reprise, another great prompt hosted by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai. All of the poems in the link-up can be read here.
I like your style of writing haiku Blake … this one is fragile and very beautiful … what an awesome inspired haiku …
Thanks, Kristjaan. I’m just glad to hear that I have some kind of “style” developing in my haiku 🙂 And I enjoyed how the Milky Way prompt made me shift my perspective so dramatically – it was fun to do that.
I am glad that you enjoy haiku that much …
Oh, how exquisite, Blake! This comes pretty close to perfection — it really does — it’s one of those haiku that you just want to read over and over. [Bowing]
Boy, I’ve had some catching up to do with replying to comments! Been too busy spamming BIOLI of late, it seems 😛
So it’s taken me three whole days to respond even to this comment, which is almost certainly my all-time favourite. Because what I’ve enjoyed most about writing to prompts is how it leads you in directions you’d never have considered otherwise. But, in this case, reading your posts and chatting with you has led me to try an entirely new form – which is pretty darn cool 😀
You’re so right about writing to/for prompts — it pushes you to grow into new directions. Some of my blogging friends turn their noses up at prompts — but I think they’re really missing out.
Again — really enjoyed this haiku — magnificent imagery and it really captures that feeling — feeling small in hugeness of the universe.
And — I don’t consider your comments at BIOLI spamming 😀
Very nice Blake … a georgeous image!
Thanks, Georgia. I’ve been seeing lots of pale berries on the bushes, lately, and when I was trying to focus on the stars they drifted back into view somehow 🙂
Ah .. that is a fatastic muse you have! 🙂
